Dr. José Luis Lanciego, appointed president of the European Brain Foundation

The aim of the EBF is to promote the funding of scientific projects aimed at reducing the social, health, and economic impact of brain diseases, which affect around a third of the European population.

Dr. Jose Lanciego, principal investigator of the Gene Therapy in Parkinson's Disease group at the Cima University of Navarra, has been appointed president of the European Brain Foundation, a leading European organisation for the promotion of research into neurological and mental illnesses.

In his new position, he will work to advocate with the European Commission and the European Parliament to increase the funding that the European Union dedicates to neurological and mental illnesses.

‘Through the EBF, we will work to respond to the common challenge of promoting research in brain diseases, supporting innovative projects that improve the quality of life of patients and their families,’ says the researcher.
