RESEARCH AREAS
Currently, Dr. Rodriguez-Madoz is PI of the Immune Therapy group, a multidisciplinary team focused on the development and characterization of innovative CAR-T therapies, their implementation for clinical use, and the characterization of the molecular mechanisms involved in the responses and resistance to these treatments.
The group led by Dr. Rodriguez-Madoz belongs to the Biomedical Research Network in Cancer (CIBERONC) and the Advanced Therapies Network (TERAV) of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII), and collaborate with multiple research centers at national and international level.
AREAS OF INTEREST
- Develop and evaluate innovative CAR-T therapies in advanced preclinical models.
- Identify the molecular mechanisms governing the efficacy and resistance to CAR-T therapies.
- Decipher the role of the immune system and tumor microenvironment in the antitumoral response of CAR-T therapies.
Activity
As an educator
- Associate Professor of Gene Therapy and Clinical Applications in the Master of Biomedical Research at the Universidad de Navarra.
- Supervisor of doctoral thesis students (4 completed and 4 in progress), master students (4 completed and 1 in progress) and end of grade students (4 completed) at the Universidad de Navarra.
As a researcher
- Participation in multiple national and international scientific meetings in the field of gene and cell therapy (ESGCT, SETGyC, EHA, ASH) with oral communications, invited keynotes and chaired sessions.
- Co-author of more tan 45 scientific publications in internationally recognized journals including Nature Communications, Science Advances, Blood Advances, etc…
- Principal Investigator of multiple national and international research projects funded by public and private entities (MICIIN, ISCIII, LaCaixa Research Foundation, OHF).
- Autor of 3 patents.
