Investing in biomedical research means investing in health
Learn about our projects
There are more than one billion people in the world affected by the diseases we research.
Our job is to research to cure them.
Cancer
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world. At Cima Universidad de Navarra we research its origin and design new advanced therapies to fight it.
Cardiovascular Diseases
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death and hospitalization in Western countries.
At Cima we investigate heart failure and vascular pathology, such as arterial hypertension or stroke.
Liver Diseases
About 29 million people suffer from chronic liver disease. At Cima we research diseases that affect liver metabolism and contribute to the development of liver tumors.
Neurodegenerative Diseases
Knowledge of the brain is a challenge for medicine in the 21st century. At Cima we research alternatives to improve the treatment of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
Rare Diseases
There are more than 7,000 types of rare diseases. Most of them have a genetic origin and more than 50% of them affect children. At Cima we research new therapies to make them rarer and rarer.
Infectious Diseases
In order to respond to the urgent health needs affecting our society, the Clinic and Cima are implementing several projects to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Biomedical research requires society as a whole to be involved in its funding, because it is society that benefits directly from its results. We do research to serve patients and society, and for this we depend on the support and generosity of others”.
