Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Navarra in 2002.

Degree in Biology from the University of Navarra in 2004.

PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Navarra in 2006. Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the University of Navarra.

Postdoctoral stay in KULeuven (Belgium) 2007-2014.

Since 2014 principal investigator at Cima-University of Navarra.

  • Generation of organs (cardiovascular system) in a mouse model by blastocyst complementation.
  • Isolation and production of pluripotent stem cells from different species.
  • Generation of interspecies chimeras: rat-mouse and human-pig.
  • Study of the mechanisms of stem cell chimerism potential.
  • Generation of transgenic pigs using gene editing tools.

Activity

As an educator

  • Co-director of 3 doctoral theses: 1 of them in progress.
  • Co-director of 2 TFM.

As a researcher

He has participated in the publication of 29 scientific articles in international journals, being first author in 8 of them and co(last) in 6 of them, including Stem Cell Reports, JCI, Circulation, Blood etc.
