Cima Universidad de Navarra
The Cima Universidad de Navarra is a biomedical research center that was inaugurated in 2004 with the mission to carry out translational research of excellence oriented to the benefit of patients and society. Its vision is to be an international reference center in biomedical research.
As a research center of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, its scientific objective is to address current clinical problems and propose the most effective treatment for each patient. To transfer the results of basic research to clinical application, Cima has a Translation and Transfer unit that seeks to establish collaborations with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to facilitate the arrival of scientific discoveries to the patient.
Cima's research is multidisciplinary, carried out by teams of professionals from various fields (biologists, biochemists, pharmacists, engineers, physicians, laboratory technicians, etc.). In this context, in collaboration with the Clinic, synergies are favored with other professionals from the other centers of the biomedical and technological campus of the Universidad de Navarra, as well as with professionals from the Hospital Complex of Navarra and Navarrabiomed, within the framework of the Institute for Health Research of Navarra (IdiSNA).
Since 2018, Cima has the status of University Research Institute of the Universidad de Navarra. As part of the academic institution, it shares with it its ideology, mission and values. Cima's professionals also contribute, through their specific activity, to the teaching and training tasks of all the University's centers.
The Cima aspires that its scientific activity transmits the following values
Dignity of the person: respect for each person and the patient, together with research, respect for freedom and non-discrimination, and reconciliation of work and family life.
Research integrity: honesty in research, accountability in execution; good management of research resources.
Cordiality in human relations.
Professional courtesy and impartiality in labor relations.
Committed to research
Governance and Organization
The governance of the Cima Universidad de Navarra involves the Foundation for Applied Medical Research, the Universidad de Navarra and the Center's Steering Committee composed of a Scientific Advisory Board and an External Scientific Council.
Scientific activity report
The scientific activity of the Cima is collected on an annual basis in its Scientific Report. Each year, the main objectives achieved, both at the scientific and management levels of the center, are reflected in the Annual Report.
Convinced that our professionals are our most important asset, at Cima we join the challenge of the European initiatives "European Charter" and "Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers" (HRS4R).
The aim is to attract research talent and enhance it by promoting the mobility of researchers both in Europe and the rest of the world, and to ensure their professional development from the early stages of their careers.
You can find out about the calls and grants for professional development at Cima through the "Work with us" section accessible from the main web page of the center. From there, you can find out about job offers and participation in research projects, grants and pre-doctoral vacancies.
