BioDETOX project

Project information

The BioDETOX project proposes to develop and evaluate strategies, including biosensors, to determine in a personalized way the degree of exposure of the population to toxic compounds of both environmental (microplastics) and endogenous origin (metabolites derived from the microbiota), with the aim of predicting cardiometabolic risk in obese patients. In addition, BioDETOX will evaluate the preventive effect of nutritional interventions and will develop a functional platform for the collection, integration and multidimensional analysis of all the data generated in the project, for its eventual adoption in the health system, enhancing personalized medicine.

Coordinated by Cima University of Navarra, this project is funded by the Government of Navarra in its call for Strategic R&D Projects 2024 within Challenge 3 (GEMA VIII).
